Aileen Marie VanGundy

Aileen M. “Granny” VanGundy, 90, of Circleville, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center.  She was born March 9, 1926 in Haydenville and was the daughter of the late Everett and Blanche (Culliver) Bowersock.
Granny was survived by her children, Ginny (Winsell) Murphy of Lancaster, Rose (Jack) Sammons of Union Furnace, Debbie (Butch) Hart of Shawnee, Herbert (Sis) VanGundy II of Lancaster and Loretta (Tom) Hill of Circleville; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Melvin (Shirley) Bowersock and sister, Betty Lou Anderson and June Morgan all of Lancaster and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene VanGundy; son, Harold VanGundy; grandson, Tye Murphy; three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda.  Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in South Perry.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
