Anthony Michael DeCastro, 41, of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus. Anthony was born on December 12, 1984, in Circleville, Ohio, to Bonnie Hedges and Mitch Ebert.
A 2003 graduate of Logan Elm High School, Anthony lived life with a generous heart, an infectious smile, and a personality that drew people to him wherever he went. More than anything, Anthony was devoted to his family. Being a husband and father was the role he cherished most. He loved creating memories with his children, Alexia and Ridge, especially spending time outdoors. Whether they were hunting, fishing, or simply enjoying nature together, those moments brought him his greatest happiness.
He also had a passion for coaching baseball and took great pride in encouraging and supporting young athletes both on and off the field. Anthony never met a stranger. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and could strike up a conversation with anyone. His loyalty, humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand earned him countless lifelong friendships. He was the kind of friend people could always count on-someone who showed up, made people laugh, and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of nine years, Jennifer (Hardwick) DeCastro; his children, Alexia and Ridge DeCastro, both of the home; his parents, Bonnie (Dave) Hedges of Circleville and Mitch Ebert of Laurelville; his sisters, Jessica (Eric) Simonton of Montana and Madison (Blake) Fortner of Laurelville; his brother, Chris (Tiff) Conley of Laurelville; his nephew, Shep Simonton of Montana; and his grandmother, Dorothy Conley of Adelphi. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Freeman Conley and Charlie Ebert.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Anthony's family from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home in Amanda. Cremation will follow the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in the memory of Anthony can be made to Mid Ohio Youth League at Kingston National Bank.
