Bernard "Bernie" Lindsey, 85 of Laurelville unexpectedly went home to be with his Lord and Savior and the Love of his Life, Friday, February 6, 2026. Born February 3, 1941, in Logan to the late Hilar and Wilma (Gierhart). Proceeded in death by his wife Betty June Hunt (2-5-24), brother Raymond Lindsey, sister Barbara Lindsey-Bost.
Survived by daughters Cheryl (Dave) VanGundy andCrystal (Chuck) Imler; grandchildren, Lindsey (Jeff), Ashley (Doug), Brad (Alena); The Light of His Eye, great grandchildren, Hailey, Colt, Autumn, Cameron, Bryce, Emily; Brother, Steve Nichols; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his garage protectors, Molly and Lucky.
Bernie was a graduate of Laurelville High School. Retired from Columbia Gas with 30+ years. Life of any party, especially when Bluegrass music was involved. One of the finest mandolin and guitar players around. He loved watching OSU football and women's basketball. A card shark, always ready to take your quarters, or just run the table with 500 Rum. John Deere's biggest fan- with his antique B, collecting toys and pedal tractors. Collie being his favorite farm dog; he owned several over the years. He loved the great outdoors, fishing, camping, sitting around a fire, riding horses, motorcycles, and splitting firewood til you were sick!
Bernie loved his family and friends beyond measure!
A celebration of his life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda, with Pastor James Saunders officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Bernie's family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Friends may make memorial contributions to any local area humane society or to any other local charity of choice.
