Betty Louise Folk

Betty Louise (Cordle) Folk,76, a long time resident of Amanda, was wrapped in the arms of Jesus and was called into the army of God on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.
She was born on August 5, 1939 in Amanda and was the daughter of the late Okey Cordle and Stella Pyke.  Betty married Donald Folk on February 2, 1957 and was a beloved member of the community.  She served both as a city council member and Mayor and was a proud employee of Midwest Fabricating for more than 40 years.  She was a faithful parishioner of Amanda United Methodist Church.  Betty loved taking trips with her daughters and spending time with her family.  Her passion to help others was evident the moment you met her.  Betty never wanted to inconvenience anybody, but rather help each and every person in need.
Betty is survived by her husband of 58 years, Don; two daughters, Pamela (Jed) Davis of Amanda and Kimberly (Jeffrey) Noll of Lancaster; five grandchildren, Jamie (Allison) Davis, Jodi (Brian) Funk, Philip (Katy) Davis, Brent (Ashley) Davis and Andrea (Daniel) Trudden.  She has 13 great grandchildren all of whom live in Central Ohio and brought her great joy.  Betty is also survived by her sister, Jean Muck of Amanda; sister-in-law, Mary Cordle of Amanda; brother-in-law, Larry (Betty) Folk and several nieces and nephews and special friend, Betty Carpenter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Cordle, brother-in-law, Wilmer Muck and a niece Tina Kinchen.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Terry Borah officiating.  Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to be made to the James Cancer Center or to FairHope Hospice & Palliative Care in Betty’s memory.
