Betty L. Sharp, 90, of Amanda, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born in Columbus on September 30, 1927 to the late Stanley and Pauline (Shaeffer) Defenbaugh. Betty was a member of the Oakland U.M. Church, as well as a past member of the Stoutsville Senior Citizens and Pythian Sisters. She loved to crochet, do word searches, and watch her favorite game shows on television.
Betty is survived by her children, David (Julia) Sharp, Judy (Don) Sims, and Mark Sharp all of Amanda; grandchildren, Kellie (Bob) DeLong, Mandy (Tony) Tallerico, Clayton Sharp, Wes (fiancé Wendy Pennington) Sims, Bart(Mary Ellen) Sims, and Vance Sharp; great grandchildren, Taylor and Brody Tallerico, Eli DeLong, Max, Scarlett and Krosby Sims.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Charles Sharp; daughters, Nancy and Jill Sharp; and daughter-in-law, Jane Sharp; brother, Carl Defenbaugh, and sister, Janice Defenbaugh.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Rev. Dave Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville. Friends may call Friday from 3 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home, and on Saturday from noon until time of service.
