George William "Bill" Weaver, 85, of Amanda, passed away surrounded by his family on August 31, 2026. He was born in Lancaster on October 29, 1940 to the late George Woodrow and Betty Katherine (Lattimer) Weaver. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1959. Bill volunteered for the Army right after high school, serving in Vietnam where he earned a Purple Heart. He was the pastor at Pine Grove UMC for 31 years. He retired from CTL Engineering after many years. He loved fishing, hunting and Ohio State Football. Serving God was his calling above all the others. Bill lived his life by James 4:7.

Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah (Blade) Weaver; daughters, Lori (Chad) Nunnery, Milan, TN; Rose (Ritchie) Borror, Stoutsville; sons, James (Patricia) Weaver, Lancaster; Dennis (Jennifer) Carruthers, Amanda; Jim Churchheus, Lancaster; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brothers in law, George Blade and John Blade; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

According to Bills wishes cremation has taken place in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111, W. Main St, Amanda, OH 43102. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
