Brent Dano Estell, age 81, of Amanda, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Pickering House, in Lancaster. He was born on October 30, 1944, in Circleville, to Dano and Mary Louise (Beery) Estell. He was a graduate of Amanda-Clearcreek High School. After graduation, he attended technical school in Chicago. Brent proudly served six years in the Ohio National Guard. He was the All-American blue collar worker. He worked at Stuck Mold, Rockwell International, and then transitioned to trucking. He was a beloved Teamsters Union Steward until his retirement. Brent was raised on a farm and farming was always in his blood. Breeding and raising Miniature Burros and horses was a passion of his. Brent and Shirlee actually met with their boots on and spent 50 years together tending to their animals.
He is survived by his wife, Shirlee (Hastings) Estell; children, Tiffany (Stanley) Brigner Jr., of Bethel, OH and Michelle (Tyler) Smith, of Corvallis, OR; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Darren), Evan (Mande), Lucas (Emillee), Alexis, Ella, Asher, and Knox; eight great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Patrick Hastings, of Lancaster; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Brett and Corey Estell; brother, Darrell (Mary Ellen) Estell.
A celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda, with Pastor Randy Perkins officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail. Due to the weather, a private interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
