Carl Black

March 2, 1985 — October 21, 2020

   Carl “Fat Boy” Black, age 35 of Amanda, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at his residence. He was born March 2, 1985 in Columbus, son of the late L.D. Queen and Jessi L. (Black) Brown. He was a graduate of Canal Winchester High School, class of 2003. He worked for 18 years for CEVA Logistics in Groveport. Carl was an avid hunter and soccer player. He was kind-hearted and could talk with anyone.

   He is survived by his mother, Jessi (Ken) Brown, of Lancaster; companion, Brittany McCoy; children, Mason, Colton, Riley and Jace; sisters, Suzi Black, of Columbus and Crystal (Kirk) Bridenstine, of Kenton; brothers, Travis (Sandy) Queen, of Navarre, FL, and Daniel (Ashley) Brown, of Lancaster; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; many close and special friends. He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Pete Black; grandma, Shirley Black Miller; dad, L.D. Queen; great grandparents, Jesse and Virginia McKee; grandparents, Lloyd and Marian Queen.

   Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2020 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Lithopolis Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Carl’s family respectfully requests that guests wear a facial covering while in the funeral home.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the family for the benefit of his children.
