Carl E. Furness, 70, of Amanda, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home on Friday, April 28, 2017. He was born February 7, 1947 in Lancaster and was the son of the late Vernon and Alice (Hunter) Furness. Carl was a U.S. veteran serving in the Air Force during Vietnam. He was a 1966 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School and a retired machinist from Thompson Consumer Electronics.
Carl is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Smith) Furness; daughter, Marlo (Ronnie) Riffle of Amanda; two grandsons, Dustin and Will Riffle; brother, Harold Furness of Circleville and a friend of many.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Phillip DeMint officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to assist with expenses
