Charles H. âChuckâHanes Jr., 79, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born March 2, 1938 in Columbus and was the son of the late Charles and Shirley (Cordle) Hanes Sr. Chuck was the founder of Econco HVAC in Lancaster and former owner of Hanes Gun Shop in Circleville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf and shooting guns. Chuck loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna (Steel) Hanes; sons, Barry (Julie) Hanes of Little River, South Carolina and Chris (Joyce) Hanes of Lancaster; grandchildren, Christopher (Leah) Hanes and their children, Caleb and Curtis, Calvin (Katy) Hanes and their children, Weston and Hadley, Courtney (Nathan) Bell of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Cody (Ally) Hanes of Myrtle Beach, Cassie Hanes and Chloe Hanes of Little River; sisters, Mary (Mike) Rhoades of Laurelville and Betty Sorenson of Frankfort; two nieces, Sara Hanes and Pam Montgomery and a nephew, Cecil Hanes Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Hanes.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday July 28, 2017 at Northridge Church of Christ, 578 Northridge Rd, Circleville, OH 43113 with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in Tarlton Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of service on Friday at the church.
