Charles L. "Chuck" Yeager, age 75 of Lancaster, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was born March 1, 1946, to Charles and Evelyn (Hafner) Yeager in Columbus, Ohio. He was a loving father, uncle, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a proud Marine veteran who served in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals, among many others. He was a firefighter for Liberty Twp. fire department in Baltimore, Ohio from 1975 to 1976. One of his loves was being an over-the-road truck driver, which he did for 35 years. Once retired, he spent his time being a farmer. He was quick with his wit and an amazing story teller who loved a good joke.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his sisters, Lois and Mary; his brother Rick; his nephew Lefty "Clarence"; his niece Phyllis; and his nephew Johnny. He is survived by his daughters Christina and Roberta; his sons Charles Jr. and Anthony; the mother of his children, Marilyn Yeager; his sister Sharon; his brother Paul and his numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, including his two partners in crime, Paula and Julianna.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda. Interment with military honors will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
