Dale E. "Stoney" Stoneburner, age 90 of Amanda, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Pickering House in Lancaster. He was born July 23, 1934, in Fairfield County and was the son of the late Walter and Lena Ruth (Delong) Stoneburner.
Dale retired from Anchor Hocking after many years of service and was a lifelong farmer in the Amanda area. His greatest joy was his miniature donkeys and pony. Dale's social entertainment was playing Euchre with his lifelong card playing buddies and attending horse shows.
He is survived by his brother, Carl (Sheila) Stoneburner; sister, Ruby Spires; sister in law, Ruthann Stoneburner; several nephews, great nieces and great nephews; also, many great friends who helped in numerous ways - The Smith family, Shirley and Brent Estell and daughters, Pat and Linda Conners, Jeff Stevens and family, Mark Gabriel, Jay Sharp and family, the Strickler family, Tim Ebert, Pat Hastings, and Bucko and Paula. Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Leona (Joseph) Stoneburner; brother and sister in law, Kenneth and Mae Stoneburner; brother in law, Raymond Spires; and best friend, Marvin Sharp.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2025, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda, with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
