David G. Gerhardt

November 24, 1965 — November 12, 2017

David G. Gerhardt, 52, formerly of Stoutsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Somerset Health and Rehabilitation Center.  He was born November 24, 1964 in Circleville and was the son of the late George Gerhardt and Barbara (Butler) Heine.  David was a 1983 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School.  He had a love for martial arts, playing guitar and hunting.
He is survived by two sisters, Jeannie Huffer of Indiana and Suzannah Gerhardt of Stoutsville; niece, Shawna (Bill) Dollaway of Indiana and their children, Brett, Brandon, Raya and Rachel; nephews, Dr. Shad (Aimee) Huffer of Indiana, Nelson and Logan Craycraft of Stoutsville and his step mother, Diane (Kinser) Gerhardt of Stoutsville.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy F. Gerhardt; brother-in-law, Dave Huffer; grandparents, Roy and Marie Gerhardt and Foster and Mildred Butler.
Cremation has been handled with care by the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda.  A grave side service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville with Rev. Ted Davis officiating.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Generations Hospice of Newark and Somerset Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care and support.
