Donald E. Gardner

Donald “Don” E. Gardner, 87, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born January 1, 1928 in Fairfield County to the late Clarence and Evelyn (Hughes) Gardner. Don was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lancaster. He retired from Columbia Gas after 30 years of service.  
Don is survived by his two children, Michael (Barbara) Gardner of Lusby, Maryland, and Dee (Bill) Yount of Galena, Ohio; his companion, Annette Brunney; grandchildren, Chris, Andy, Brandy, Tara, Ashley, Kermit, Amy, Jesse, and Sarah; as well as 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby L. (Bertsch) Gardner; son, Charles Gardner; and brothers, Kenny, Kermit, and Warren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Emil Klatt officiating. Burial to follow in Green Mound Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-8 P.M. and one hour prior to service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 105 E. Mulberry, Lancaster, OH 43130 in Don’s memory.
