Donald Rose

Donald  Rose, 82, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday May 17, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born October 14, 1931 to the late Wilbur and Velma (Wilkins) Rose. Don was a graduate of Amanda High School. He was a long time farmer at the family farm and worked at Anchor Hocking for many years.  Don and his wife Edna enjoyed their monthly euchre card club. He was an active member of Mt. Zion U.M. Church and the Lions Club until he needed to devote all his time to care for his wife Edna.  
He is survived by his children, Dennis (Diana) Rose, Karen (Ed) Hollett, and Brad (Judy) Rose all of Lancaster; grandchildren, Josh Rose, Danyelle Johnson, Cassie Rose, Heidi (Adam) Haeusler, Brock Rose, Andrea Hollett, Cheyenne Rose, and Seth Hollett; great grandchildren,  Titan, Jada , and Riley Johnson, and  Tanner Rose; brothers, Wilbur "Jay" (Gloria) Rose of Arizona, Joe Rose of North Carolina, and Dean (Barbara) Rose of New Mexico. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Edna (Martin) Rose, and sister-in-law Ruth Rose.
The family would like to express their sincerest and heart felt thanks to the palliative care nurses at Fairfield Medical Center for making Don's last days comfortable and pain free.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Connie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  The family request memorial contributions to the Mt. Zion U.M. Church in Don's memory.
