Doris L. âDudeâ Willison, 86, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 12, 1928 in Columbus and was the daughter of the late Paul Ashford and Louise Hannah (Relken) Huffman. Dude was a member of the Classic Cruisers Car Club and former treasurer of the Sin-Shore Ladies Club in Columbus. She was a member of a state champion softball team in the 1940's and was interested in all athletics, especially OSU Football and Basketball. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching and in her younger years was a singer and performed for different events around Columbus.
She is survived by two sons, Steven (Beth Ann) Willison of Swoyersville, PA and Jack (Joyce) Willison of Lancaster; grandchildren, Jadi Willison, Steven (Deanna) Willison and Scott (Claire) Willison all of Pennsylvania and Cara (Johnny) Hendrix of Amanda; great grandchildren, Gage, Madison, Sydney, Paul and Sarah Willison, Lex and Gabe Hendrix; brother, Lee Huffman of Grove City and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson Willison and a brother, Kenneth Huffman.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Dave Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scoggin, Dr. Singh, the staff at Crestview and Pickering House for their care and compassion of Dude and Pastor Dave Jackson and the Zion United Methodist Church for making her part of their church family.
