Edward E. “Butch” Stebleton Jr., 71 of Sugar Grove, passed away, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born September 27, 1949 in Amanda and was the son of Edward E. and Ruth (Wolford) Stebleton. He was a 1969 graduate of Lancaster High School where he excelled in football and wrestling. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. After an honorable discharge he married Darin Sherburn on June 24, 1972. He was a truck driver and hauled heavy equipment for TC Spires and delivered freight for Central Transport. He retired from A-1 Storage.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darin Stebleton; mother, Ruth Stebleton of Lancaster; children, Edward E. “B.J.” Stebleton III of Nelsonville; Nikki (Chad) Drake of Lancaster and Justin Stebleton of Sugar Grove; five grandchildren, Samantha, Camron, Kaycee, Cain and Natalie; one great granddaughter, Olivia; siblings, Kitty (Chris) Clay, James (Bev) Stebleton, Darla (Larry) Zartman and Jill (Bruce) Wood; brother-in-law, David Woltz and numerous nieces and nephews. Butch was also survived by Shannon, Josh and Maddie Hill who he considered family. He was preceded in death by his father; siblings, Mike Stebleton and April Woltz; niece, Jasmine Wood.
Cremation is being handled with care by the Taylor-Theller Funeral Home in Amanda. No services will be held, however, a Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 2021 at Reams Lake, near Southeastern Correctional on Christmas Rock Road. The family will begin to receive friends at 1:00 pm when a military service will be held by AMVETS Post #2256, Circleville.
