Freda May Hartley

Freda Hartley, 78, passed away on September 17, 2026, at Bickford of Lancaster. She was born August 2, 1948, a daughter of the late Steven and Elva (Bosworth) Blankenship. She was a member of Olivedale in Lancaster. Freda loved being in church, singing, dancing, and crafting.

She is survived by her husband, Benny Hartley; son, Ben Paul Hartley; daughter, Carrie Horvath; granddaughter, Alexandria Nicole Daines; grandson, Isaac Joshua Daines; sisters, Linda Wemer, Judy Arnold, and Connie Perry; and brother, Steven "Bud" Blankenship Jr. Freda is preceded in death by her parents, Steven and Elva (Bosworth) Blankenship; son, Joshua Wilson Hartley; and her sister, Jenny Thorne.

The service for Freda will be held at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Athens, Ohio at a later date. Cremation has been arranged in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda.
