George W. Holsinger

George W. Holsinger, of Rushville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 29, 2018 as a result of an auto accident.  He was born May 6, 1945 in Franklin County and was the son of the late Eddie and Faye (Morehart) Holsinger.  George was a 20 year veteran serving in the U.S. Army.  He served three tours in Vietnam and one tour in Germany.  He was a retired distribution clerk for the United States Postal Service in Columbus after 31 years of service.  George was a lifetime member of Amvets Post #1985 and member of American Legion Post #58 in Somerset,  Moose #955 and Eagles #2120 in Lancaster.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jean (Perkowski) Holsinger; three daughters, three stepsons, eight grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating.  Burial will be in Amanda Twp. Cemetery with military honors.  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
