Goldie Mae LaFollette, 80, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born May 9, 1935 in Athens County and was the daughter of the late Carl Chester and Edith Estella (Smith) Coe. Goldie was the owner of LaFollette Boarding Home.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Sandy) LaFollette and a daughter, Diane LaFollette both of Lancaster; grandchildren, Kimberly, Holly and Eric Valentine, Alicia (Anthony) Queen, Danielle (Josh) McDaniel, Phillip and Jeremy LaFollette and Tyler Merritt and several great grandchildren; brothers, Carl (Betty) Coe of Dayton and John (Betty) Coe of Lancaster; sisters, Maxine (James) Gabbard of Dayton and Connie Taylor of Athens and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Scott LaFollette and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastors Harold Palmer and Travis Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
