Greg "Pappy" Simon, age 70, of Stoutsville, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at his daughter's home surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 25, 1954, in Columbus, the son of Clifford and Phyllis (Lewis) Simon. He attended Groveport Madison High School, and later received his diploma from the school of hard knocks. Greg farmed and drove a semi truck for many years. He loved his cows, gardening, playing Euchre and his harmonica. He was especially proud of his International Harvester tractor. He loved to tell stories about his younger feral years.
He is survived by his children, Darcy "Sunshine" West, of Circleville, Jason "J.J." West, of Commercial Point, Marybeth "Buppy" (Travis) Timmons, of Stoutsville, Lindsay "Edgie" (Ryan) Sisler, of Amanda, Jessica "Fast Jammies" Williams, of Stoutsville, Emmie Sue "Little Britches" (Clint) Evans, of Lancaster; bonus kids, Becky (Jeff) Jewell, of Stoutsville, Sara Ryan, of Stoutsville, and Tina Uhl, of Stoutsville; grandchildren, Trey, Zoe, and James West, Emma May "Sugar Foot" Timmons, Duke "Wing Ding" and Bristol "Tennessee" Sisler, Jerzi "Fuzz" and Tesla "Snip" Williams, and Vera, Wren and Bree Evans, Faith Jewell and Tayvan Ryan, and Kenzie Uhl; great grandson, Oliver West; sisters, Debbie (Andy) Borders, Karen (Scott) Ayers, and Collett Hayes, all of Columbus; several nieces and nephews; best friend and farming buddy, Bobcat. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Lavette; brother, Eddie.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda with Pastor Steve Krumm officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Stoutsville. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
