James N. Cox, 77, of Circleville, passed away December 28, 2016 at Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 2, 1939 in Scioto County and was the son of the late Thomas and Ivory (Keaton) Cox. James attended Ashville CCCU, a member of Rickly Lodge #30 F&AM in Columbus. James was a truck driver for TL Express for over 32 years. He also worked for Kroger in Columbus for 25 years as a meat cutter.
James is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary (Parker) Cox; sons, Jim (Cindy) Cox of Circleville, and Tim (Nancy) Cox of Ashville; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; step daughter, Pamela Newkirk and step son, Jerry Huffman both of Hillsboro; sisters, Betty Conrad of Pataskala, and Mae (Leo) Spradlin of Lucasville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Cox.
The family will receive friends Saturday, 10 AM to 12 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. A grave side service will follow at the Amanda Twp Cemetery with Pastor Don Blankenship officiating.
