Janet "Margo" Crow, age 74 of Thurston, passed away Friday, November 11, 2022, at Fairfield Medical Center. She was born June 29, 1948, in Lancaster, the daughter of the late Jona and Edna (Detwiler) Hite. She was a graduate of Sheridan High School (Northern Local), class of 1966 and then went on to Ohio University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education. She later earned a second Bachelor's Degree from Ohio Dominican University in Library Science. She taught elementary school at Thornville and then moved on to teach and retire from Fisher Catholic where she taught two generations of students as a Librarian, English, and Literature teacher. Margo was an avid reader and loved completing crossword puzzles. She disliked cooking and housework. Margo enjoyed exercising with her swim group at Olivedale. For many years, she and her husband, Marty attended St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Georgia (Archie) Robinson, of Pleasantville, Nancy Hite, of Pleasantville, and Rita (Rick) Fields, of Manchester, KY; nieces, Heidi Robinson, of Rushville, and Amy (Duane) Boyer, of Lancaster; nephew, Anthony Fields, of McKee, KY; grand niece, Kami Turner and grand nephew, Henry Boyer. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin "Marty" Crow; niece, Alicia Turner.
A public celebration of life will be announced and held at a future date. Private graveside services will be conducted at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster with Rev. Tom Hite officiating.
