Jettie J. Tackett, age 90 of Marysville and formerly of Amanda, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Walnut Crossing in Marysville. She was born January 8, 1931 in Pike County, KY, daughter of the late Otis and Jessie (Damron) Compton. Jettie was a member of Open Door Freewill Baptist Church. She loved caring for and raising many children over the years in her home. She enjoyed camping and canning vegetables. Jettie was known to make the best apple butter in the world.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Normal Tackett; children, Donald (Tracy) Tackett, of Lewis Center and Connie (Tim) Taylor, of Marysville; grandchildren, Tiffany Taylor and Nancy Williams; great grandchildren, Kalvin, Rachel, and Greyson; sisters, Roxie (Larry) Brown and Virginia Bryant; brothers, Ottis (Kathryn) Compton and Billy Ray (Vicki) Compton; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ronnie, John and Floyd Compton.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Open Door Freewill Baptist Church, 3820 Cincinnati Zanesville Rd., Lancaster with Pastor Willie Booth officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda and 1 hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
