Joey Deirfield

    Joey Deirfield, age 29 of Laurelville, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, doing what he loved which was ripping through the gears. He was born November 8, 1994, in Lancaster, the son of Amber (Drum) and Joe Deirfield. He was a graduate of Logan Elm High School, class of 2013. Joey was an ASE Certified Mechanic and store manager at the Tuffy Auto Service Center in Lancaster where he worked with his dad. He was slightly obsessed with any firearms and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Joey loved classic rock and playing his guitar. He built and restored guns and was a member of the Bill Moose Gun Club along with his grandpa. Joey was a collector of classic muscle cars, and he was especially proud of his 3^rd Gen IROC.

   He is survived by his parents, Amber and Joe Deirfield; brothers, Jack and Jacob (fiancée Lily Haynes) Deirfield; sister, Hannah Deirfield; grandparents, Valerie and Jamie Hardwick, all of Laurleville; Bev and Fred Deirfield, of Baltimore; Tony (Peg) Drum, of Circleville; aunts and uncles, Bo and Lana Deirfield, Heleena (like a sister) (A.J.) Spaulding, Crystal Farley, and T.J. and Lisa Drum; and many other close cousins; his beloved pet Python, “Mr. Snake”; and many friends that Joey thought of like family. He is preceded in death by his great uncle, who he was named after, Vincent Tracey; great grandparents, Marvin and Phyllis Byrd, Jack Tracey; two special great grandmothers, Mamaw Lucy Deirfield and Helen Tracey.  

   A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda. Cremation will follow the service. Joey’s family will receive friends from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
