John Henderly

January 16, 1935 — July 2, 2025

John B. Henderly, age 90, of Amanda, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born January 16, 1935, in Fairfield County, to the late Harry and Alice (Solt) Henderly. He was a graduate of Amanda High School. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Boy Scout Troop leader. John was retired from DuPont in Circleville with 30 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, caring for his chickens, and he especially loved his tractors. He was a great "supervisor", staying active, even cutting his own firewood until this past year.


He is survived by his children, Curtis (Susan) Henderly, of Amanda, Jim (Debbie) Henderly, of Lancaster, David (Lisa) Henderly, of Circleville, and Sherrie (Matthew) Ayotte, of Canton, GA; grandchildren, Shawn, Joe, Noah (Tasha), Christopher, J.D. (Cassie), Adam, and Amy; five great grandchildren; brother, Wendell Henderly, of Amanda. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kay; his brother, Boyd Henderly.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda. Interment will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make memorial contributions to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130.
