John W. Sharp

John W. Sharp, 72, of Amanda, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014 after a short illness with Kidney and Lung Cancer.  He was born February 11, 1942 in Amanda and was the son of Alford Vance and Helen Louise (VanFossen) Sharp.  John’s great love for farming and family times were his world along with his passion for dancing.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Sharp of Massieville; brother, Marvin (Jackie) Sharp of Amanda; sisters, Alberta Davis of Circleville, Linda (Bill) Hartley and Karen (Larry) Hoffman both of Amanda and Terrell (Dave) Edwards of Ashville.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who loved their John Boy and nicknamed him PeeWee years ago.  Aunts, uncles and many cousins and friends also survive.  Thanks to all of our special little helpers.  He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Ted Davis officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
