Larry Beougher

Larry M. Beougher, age 79 of Amanda, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Primrose Retirement Living in Lancaster. He was born July 25, 1944, in Lancaster, the son of Merl and Martha Jean (Duncan) Beougher. Larry was a 1962 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School and a 1966 graduate of Capital University where he earned his degree in education. He furthered his studies by earning a Master's degree in 1987 from the University of Dayton. Larry was a teacher and coach at Amanda Clearcreek for 35 years where he received numerous academic awards and was honored as a member of the Amanda Clearcreek Hall of Fame. He was awarded the Fairfield County Teacher of the Year by the Lancaster Kiwanis Club. He was twice named a Jennings Scholar by Capital University and Ohio University and he was awarded Teacher of the Year by the D.A.R.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Armstrong) Beougher; niece, Janice (Rod) Francis, of Amanda; great niece, Susan (Robert) Ellis, of Baltimore; several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Sherry; sister, Bonnie Eyestone.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda. Interment will follow at Amanda Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
