Larry D. Howell II

Larry D. Howell II, age 65, of Amanda, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. Larry was born on August 12, 1960, in Youngstown, Ohio to Larry and Susan (Paxton) Howell Sr. He was a graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School, class of 1979. Larry was an active and beloved member of Frontline Church of God. Larry loved animals, all animals. He collected books about all kinds of animals and was a walking encyclopedia of animal facts. He also collected religious books and was an avid reader. He collected animal figurines and also die cast cars. He enjoyed Westerns and probably watched every episode of Gunsmoke twenty times.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends; especially, cousin, Thadd Howell, of Mt. Gilead, and his chosen sister, Marsha Garrett, of Amanda. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Howell.

A memorial service for Larry will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Frontline Church of God, 5195 Amanda Northern Rd., Amanda with Pastor Chris Hildenbrand officiating. Cremation has been arranged in the care of Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda.
