Larry E. Jackson, 75, of Lancaster, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born, January 11, 1940 in Lancaster. Larry was a 1958 graduate of Berne Union High School and retired from Western Electric. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and F.O.E. #2120. Larry was an avid bowler and bowled in several leagues including the Lancaster All Star League. He was inducted into the SEOH USBC Area Bowling Hall of Fame in 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Flora (Waugh) Jackson; children, Troy (Tracy) Jackson and Lori (Mark) Miller both of Lancaster; grandchildren, Brandy Miller, Mark (Tiffany) Miller II, Kelly Miller, Felicia and Ryan Jackson; 6 great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne(Carolyn) Jackson of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Helen (Vanscoy) Jackson and a brother, Michael Jackson.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Roger Quay officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
