Lavada Wampler, 86, formerly of Stoutsville, passed away January 13, 2017 in Lancaster. She was born December 27, 1930 in Columbus, and was the last living child of the late Dave and Cora (Roe) Osborn. Lavada was a lifelong member of Reese Community Baptist Church. She had previously worked as a furnace operator and retired from CE Glass.
Lavada is survived by her children, Charles E. Wampler of Amanda, Linda (Gene) Carr of Beckley, WV., Patti (Wampler) Davis of Lancaster, Isaac âIkeâ (Dianne) Wampler of Circleville and Joyce Wampler of Lancaster; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lavada was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Charles L. Wampler; 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Tad Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Brian Varney and the staff at Carroll Place for their kindness and care Lavada received during her stay.
