Lillian C. Hughes

Lillian C. Hughes, age 94, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. She was born February 9, 1931, in Paintsville, KY, to the late Oscar and Annie (Lemaster) Estep. She was a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Church where she enjoyed Sunday services and fellowship. Lillian was a longtime member of Weight Watchers and TOPS. She loved to paint and was a talented artist. Her husband, Billy also enjoyed making the frames for much of her artwork. She loved gardening, tending to her vegetables and canning them to nourish her family.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Billy; sons, Marvin (Dinah) Hughes, of Lancaster, Joe (Cathy) Hughes, of Junction City, Terry (Sherry) Hughes, of Florence, AL, and Tim Hughes, of Lancaster; grandchildren, Emma, Wade, Nicholas, Ryan, Jennifer and Jonathan; six great grandchildren; brother, Willis George Estep, of Johnson County, KY; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Vernard G. Hughes; grandson, Jamie Hughes; sisters, Vadna, Louise, and Beula; brothers, Okaford and Junior.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, Amanda. Interment will follow at Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
