Lois E. Hood

Lois Elizabeth Hood, age 82, of Amanda Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 24, 1933 in San Francisco to the late Carl and Ethel (Phelps) Claypool. She played organ at the Amanda Lutheran Church of which she was also a member for many years.  Lois also taught piano lessons, and played organ at the Presbyterian Church in Amanda as well as the Taylor Funeral Home. She graduated from Fresno State University with degrees in education and music, and taught primary education for 17 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Richard; children, Lisa (Mitch) Reta of Amanda, Geoffrey (Kelly) Prinz of California, and Sean (Susan) Prinz of Washington; 9 grandchildren and numerous great grand children.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by grandson Dylan Anthony Reta, great grandsons; Jackson Anthony Reta and Henry Mack Lowe; brother, Alden Claypool; step-son, Daniel Hood; and step-daughter Charlotte Madigan.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Amanda Presbyterian
Church with Pastor Liz Tietz officiating.  Burial to follow in Amanda Twp Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Wednesday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, OH 43130 in Lois’ memory.
