Marie Sharp

Velma Marie Sharp, 84, of Oakland, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, March 26, 2018.  She was born April 6, 1933 in Pickaway County and was the daughter of the late William and Ada (Wynkoop) Fogler.  Marie was a graduate and valedictorian of Salt Creek High School and a member of Pythian Sisters in Circleville.  She was also a member of Oakland United Methodist Church where she loved to play the piano.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joe Sharp; two children, Roxanne (Jim) Osborn and Randy (Kim Disbennett) Sharp both of Amanda; two grandchildren, Joe (Nikki) Osborn of Amanda and April (Travis) Bowersock of Scott Air Force Base in Illinois; five great grandchildren, Hannah and Tom Osborn, Adrianna, Tristan and Addy Bowersock.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Hedges.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Dave Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville.  Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Those who wish may donate to Oakland United Methodist Church in Marie’s memory.

Marie was such a sweet and kind woman. I only knew her briefly when I lived behind her and Joe and worked at Oakland Grocery. She will be GREATLY missed. May God be with all family and friends during this sorrowful time. But I know she is glad to be home.
