Mildred Sue Moore

April 24, 1943 — April 24, 2021

Mildred Sue Moore, 78, of Lancaster, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on April 24, 2021. Sue was born April 24, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Earnest and Cordie (Short) Evans of Waverly, Ohio. She was blessed with and survived by 5 brothers and 5 sisters whom she loved deeply. Through marriage, Sue had many brothers and sisters in-law and she treasured those friendships.

She married the love of her life, husband of 58 years and 9 months, James A. Moore Sr. on July 21, 1962 and their union was blessed with 3 children; James A. Moore Jr. “Bo”, of Lancaster, Tammy (Rick Cremeans) Campbell, of Amanda, and Randy Joe (Barb) Moore, of Ashville. Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her grandchildren; Melia (Josh) Burkhart, of Pickerington, Megan (Danny Wheeler) Downour, of Torrance, CA, Hannah (Tyler Toles) Moore and Walker Moore, of Ashville, and Abby Moore, of Sugar Grove; she found joy in her 2 great grandchildren, Valen and Cohen Burkhart, of Pickerington.

She was employed by Berne Union Schools for 18 years until she retired in the 1990’s. She enjoyed attending Amanda Christian Church in Amanda. Sue was always up for a shopping trip or an outing to the casino. In the Summer, you could find her fishing on the Ohio River. If you challenged her to play cards, be prepared to stay up half the night and you better bring your own quarters. She will be remembered most for her love of family, her orneriness, her biscuits and gravy and her affinity for the color, yellow.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home, 111 W. Main St., Amanda with Pastors John King, Phil DeMint and Don Houser officiating. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. The funeral may also be viewed live at the funeral home’s Facebook page. If you plan to attend, please feel free to wear your favorite shade of yellow.
