Mr. Arthur L. McCray

Arthur L. McCray, Sr., of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born Jan. 6, 1939 in Lancaster and was the son of the late Jasper and Myrtle (Corsen) McCray. Art was a graduate of Lancaster High School, U.S. Army veteran and retired from Anchor Hocking after 42 years of service. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Lancaster.
He is survived by his sons, Arthur (Susan Violette) McCray, Jr. of Corona, CA, Kenny (Kathy) McCray and Chris (Sherry McKenzie) McCray both of Lancaster; ten grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; brothers, Steve (Mary) McCray of Mississippi and Don (Sue) McCray of Bremen; sisters, Dee Saunders and Alberta (Hobie) Johnson both of Lancaster and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marquitta McCray; grandson, Jamie Lee O'Rourke; brothers, Jack, Jasper and Ralph McCray and sisters, Mytrle Winegardner, Mary Henderson and Cathy Roark.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Roy Maple officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family would like contributions to be made to Bible Baptist Church in Art's memory.
