Mr. Claude J. Ford

Claude J. Ford, 70, of Amanda, passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at the Zusman House.
He was born February 29, 1940 in Columbus and was the son of the late Claude and Henrietta (Huntzinger) Ford. He was a 1959 graduate of South High School. Claude worked in the printing industry for over 50 years in the Central Ohio area. He was a member and elder of Emanuel Lutheran Church, German Village Kiwanis, former board member of Pregnancy Decision Health Center, former member of the Amanda Village Council, founding member of Fairfield Heritage Trail Association, Leader of the Men's Bible study and co-owner of the Dum-Ford House in Amanda.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anna (Bohl) Ford; children, Steven (Beth) Ford of Circleville, Cindy (Bobby) Jensen and Julia Ford-Ruth both of Lancaster and Michael (Julie) Ford of Boise, Idaho; grandchildren, Matthew, Patrick and John Ford, Madison, Mackenzie, Micah and Mitchell Jensen, Zoe and Ruby Ruth; sister, JoAnn McMackin of Lancaster; Anna's brother and sisters, Becky (Tom) Stultz, Tom (Sandy) Bohl and Ellen (Bill) Griffith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ford, his wife's parents, Omer and Zella Bohl and a brother-in-law, Norris McMackin.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the EMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 231 E. Mulberry St., Lancaster, Ohio with Pastor Mark Raddatz officiating. Burial will be in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda.
The family would like to thank Vitas Hospice for the care Claude received while at the Zusman House.
