Mr. Curtis "Ronnie" Kempton

November 21, 1939 — December 2, 2013

Curtis "Ronnie" Kempton, 74, of Circleville, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Grant Medical Center. He was born Nov. 21, 1939 in Massieville, and was the son of the late Curtis W. and Irene (McGee) Kempton. He was a graduate of Centralia High School, former owner of CR Kempton Building Contractor and retired from Ross Correctional Institution. He was a life member of AMVETS Post #2256 in Circleville and the Mt. Logan Riding Club. He was also a strong supporter of the Salt Creek Twp. Fire Dept.
Ronnie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Betty J. (Gilliam) Kempton; children, Charles "Chuck" (Mary) Kempton of Londonderry, Ronjalee Wagner of Amanda and Rick (Lois) Salyers of Stoutsville; grandchildren, Kylee Salyers (Josh), Kacee Salyers, Quinton and Kirsten Wagner, Tiffany and Shane Gibbs, and Seth Smith; sister, Gloria (Bob) Carroll of Chillicothe; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by nephew Gary Dean Vandermark.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Larry Ault officiating. Burial will follow in Tarlton Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donation to the Salt Creek Twp. Fire Department Toys for Tots in Ronnie's memory.
