Mr. Gardner William Hunt Jr

Gardner William "Gary" Hunt Jr., 81, of Lancaster, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his residence. Gary was born April 26, 1931 in Buffalo, NY and was the son of the late Gardner William and Mable (Schutrum) Hunt Sr. He served in the U.S. Army in the Counter Intelligence Command in Korea. He was former owner and operator of Benefits Mid-West, an insurance consulting firm. While earning his bachelor's degree at Otterbein University he married his college sweetheart, Barbara June Warner.
Gary was a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara June Hunt; daughter, Barbara Ellen Hunt of Columbus; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert (Emily) Warner of Colorado Springs, CO and Carolyn (Eric) Hobday of Savannah, GA. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Hunt and sister, Jean Seyfang.
A celebration of life service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Robert Warner officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Children's Hunger Alliance in Gary's memory.
