Mr. John Allen Kougher Sr

John A. Kougher Sr., 72, of Amanda, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born May 28, 1939 in Amanda and was the son of the late Lowell D. and Ruth (Vanscoy) Kougher Sr. John was an active member of the Amanda Lions Club and retired from Amanda Grain with over 20 years of service. He loved to be around people, playing cards and fish.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, Jean, he is survived by four children, John A. (Kim) Kougher Jr., Lannette (Nick) Tipple, Kevin Kougher and Dayleen (Mark) Hines; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Jane and Anna Bell Kougher and Margaret Young; brother, Lowell Dean Kougher Jr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Jim and Richard Kougher and a niece Brenda Young.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Terry Borah officiating. Burial will be in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to service Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions be made to the Taylor Funeral Home to assist with expenses in John's memory.
