Joseph Lee Myers, 86, of Lancaster, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at Rockmill Rehabilitation Center. He was born October 17, 1925 in Bremen and was the son of the late William and Elgin (Frazier) Myers. Lee was retired from the U.S. Navy and Air Force and served in WW II, Korea and the VietNam wars. He was retired from Anchor Hocking after 21 years of service. He was a member of F.O.E. Aerie #2120 and Lancaster Lodge #57 F & AM. He also worked at the Dannemiller Hardware in Lancaster.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lena (Francis) Myers; sons, Gary Myers of Las Vegas and Gary (LouAnn) Bowersock of Lancaster; daughters, Linda (Rick Sheets) Wilkin of Sugar Grove, Connie Ambuehl of Lancaster and Terri (Dave) Leupold of Amanda; son-in-law, Randy Mace of Lancaster; eleven grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Myers; daughter, Sharon Mace; son-in-law, Terry Wilkin; sister, Frances Myers and brothers, Mike, Bill and Tom Myers.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Terry Borah officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Bremen with military honors provided by AMVETS Post #2256 in Circleville. Friends may call from 2-4 &
6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
