Max E. "Shorty" Stevens, 82, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born December 25, 1927 in Pickaway County and was the son of the late Frank and Sadie (Schamehorn) Stevens. He was a retired superintendent for the Fairfield County Road Dept.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty (Francis) Stevens; sons, Max "Gene" (Carolyn) Stevens of Amanda and Jeff (Vicky) Stevens of Lancaster; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold, Ralph, Robert, Bill and Arthur Stevens and a sister, Marilyn Stevens.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Terry Borah officiating. Burial will be in Reber Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
