Paul E. Amspaugh, 88, of Lancaster passed away Sunday January 15, 2012 at Fairfield Medical Center. He was born April 3, 1923 to the late Howard and Mary (Hizey) Amspaugh. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II in the South Pacific. He worked for 20 years as supervisor with Davey Tree Company and later retired after 23 years as lineman with South Central Power Company. He was a member of AMVETS Post #3761, Baltimore. He is survived by daughters; Relva Romine, Baltimore, Paula (James) Mathews and Diane (Timothy) Schmueckle all of Lancaster; grandchildren Tammy Joos, Andy (Melissa) Romine, Heather Schmueckle, Wendy (Jeremy) Dennison, Holly (Joel) Warder; 12 great grandchildren with the cycle of life continuing with the anticipation of the birth of his newest great granddaughter--Alexandria Grace Warder this very day, brothers; Danny (Gladys) Amspaugh of Duncan Falls, Kenny Amspaugh of Millersport, Roger Amspaugh and Phyllis, of Lancaster. Sisters Arleta Miller of Circleville and Eileen (Verne) Miller of Baltimore, numerous nieces and nephews and care giver Mike Basye. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Amspaugh, brother Herbert Amspaugh, sisters Ruth Rollie, Edith Garrett and Juanita Archer. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the Taylor Funerl Home in Amanda with Rev. Mathew Nihiser and Rev Brian Meadows officiating. Burial to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Lancaster with military honors provided by AMVETS Post #2256 of Circleville. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. and one hour prior to service on Wednesaday at the funeral home.
