Mr Robert E. Shannon

Robert E. "Fuzzy" Shannon, age 76 of Amanda passed away April 13, 2013 at Homestead Nursing Center in Lancaster. He was born December 22, 1936 in Pickaway County to the late Glenn and Gladys (Curry) Shannon. Bob enjoyed spending time with family, and worked his entire life farming in the Fairfield and Pickaway County area. He was a longtime member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church in Groveport, Amanda Lions Club, and the Fairfield Co. Farm Bureau.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia "Pat" (Myers) Shannon; daughter, Lori McCalla of Lancaster; and son, Wayne (Michelle) Shannon of Amanda; grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin (fiance Sherry), and Tara McCalla, Matthew, Billy and Austin Shannon; great-grandson, Lane McCalla; sisters, Betty Chester and Helen Harrison; brother, Boyd (Carol) Shannon.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother David Shannon.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Hopewell United Methodist Church in Groveport with Pastor Barbara Salyer officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda.
The family request memorial contributions to the Hopewell United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, 4348 London-Lancaster Road, Groveport, OH. 43125, or to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Road, Columbus, Ohio 43215 in Bob's memory.
