Mrs. Carol L. Bowers

Carol L. Bowers, 77, of Amanda, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. She was born August 31, 1936 in Lancaster and was the daughter of the late Ernest Lee and Viola Ruth (Spangler) Shaeffer. Carol was retired from Anchor Hocking after 38 years of service. She was a member of Circleville First Church of Christ in Christian Union where she was active in the Joy Ministries and a choir member. Carol was also a member of several flower clubs in the area.
She is survived by her husband, Donald O. Bowers; son, Todd (Denise) Beery of Bremen; sister, Phyllis Jenner of California and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Jonathan Walker and brother, Ernest L. Shaeffer Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Circleville First Church of Christ in Christian Union, 436 E. Ohio St., Cirlceville, Ohio with Pastor Jay Neff officiating. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda.
