Dorothy M. Allen, 99, of Amanda, passed away Monday, September 9, 2013 at Caring Touch in Lockbourne. She was born Jan. 28, 1914 in Fairfield County and was the daughter of the late Turney and Gladys (Fosnaugh) Heffner. Dorothy was a 1931 graduate of Amanda High School.
She is survived by her children, Vernon (Eleanor) Allen of Amanda and Phyllis Williams of Circleville; two grandsons, Jeffery Williams of Circleville and Michael (Cori) Williams of Whitehall; two great grandchildren, Ryan and Erin Williams; sister-in-law, Ruth Heffner of Amanda and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Allen and three brothers, Dessell, Virgil and Murrell Heffner.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursdasy.
The family would like contributions to be made to Berger Hospice in Dorothy's memory.
