Dorothy I. Harrell, 91, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Crestview Manor. She was born Sept. 9, 1922 in Circleville and was the daughter of the late Henry and Frances (Metzger) England. Dorothy was a 1940 graduate of Salt Creek High School, 48 year member of O.E.S., member of St. John Church and was the head cook at Stoutsville School for 26 years.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Harrell; daughter, Zelpha (Jim) Barnhart of Lancaster; grandchildren, Brenda (George) Shoemaker, Dale (Connie) Weaver, Doug (Melissa) Ricketts, Nissa (Kevin) Peck, Dora Fitch and Devin Drum; 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Donna Cook of Circleville, several nieces and nephews and special friend Nancy Fausnaugh of Stoutsville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Merle Drum; son, Duane Drum; grandson, Michael Weaver; five brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held 11:00a.m. Wednesday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Jim Vandagriff officiating. Burial will be in Tarlton Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m.
