Mrs. Freda E. Weidner

Freda E. Weidner, 83, of Columbus, formerly of Amanda, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at LanFair Center.
She was born June 21, 1929 in Amanda and was the daughter of the late Willard and Cora (Waites) Christy. Freda was a graduate of Amanda High School and was a retired account executive for PPG.
She is survived by a son, Dennis (Sharienne) Weidner of Carroll; and grandsons, Sergei and Daniel Weidner; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Noel (Ruby) Weidner of Columbus and Donna Halfhill of Connellsville, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Derral R. Weidner; brothers, Denver and John Christy; sisters, Elsie Hunt, Gladys Shumaker and Helen Alton.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Gary Alton officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 2:00 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Maywood Mission, 1025 S. Broad St., Lancaster, Ohio 43130 in Freda's memory.
