Helen V. Brown, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Homestead Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 6, 1925 in Pickaway County and was the daughter of the late Charles and Bertha (Frazier) Compton. Helen was a former cook for Amanda Clearcreek Schools and retired from Essex Wire. She attended Fairfield Community Church
She is survived by three sons, Roger Smith of Charleston, SC, Merrill (Brenda) Brown of Canal Winchester and David (Marla) Brown of Lancaster; daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Page of Lancaster; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garold Brown and a son, Stephen Brown.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Larry Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
