Mrs. Hilda I. Moyer

Hilda I. Moyer, 92, of Lancaster, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Pickering House. She was born July 8, 1919 in Lancaster and was the daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Netuschill) Wolfinger. Hilda was a charter member of Calvary Orthodox Lutheran Church in Lancaster. She was a 1938 graduate of Amanda High School, 53 year member of Clearcreek Valley Grange and member and past president of Amanda Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two daughters, Martha Marie (Gerald) Carpenter of McArthur and Pauline (Jack) Shaeffer of Amanda; grandchildren, Shelley (Travis) Miller, Gregory (April) Shaeffer, Michael Shaeffer and Lisa Carpenter; great grandchildren, Kaden, Kaleb and Kollin Miller and Abigail Shaeffer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Moyer and three sisters, Amelia Muck, Anna Mosure and Marguerite Wolfinger.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at the TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME in Amanda with Pastor Roger Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Rose Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to either Calvary Orthodox Lutheran Church or FairHope hospice in Hilda's memory.
